:: About Connexion

We are so glad you're checking out Connexion!

Visiting a church for the first time and meeting new people can be intimidating, especially as a single person. Our desire is to make your visit as comfortable as possible allowing you to connect with individuals at your own pace. Connexion is far from a perfect group of Christians, so if you're not perfect either, you'll fit right in. As you transition into Connexion, know that you can be yourself and be accepted.

We hope you'll find the information you need here, but if you don't, please contact us.

What types of people are in Connexion?

Connexion is geared toward career-oriented singles in their 20's and 30's. It is composed of new and seasoned believers with varied backgrounds and life-experiences. Most of us work full-time in the Dayton area. In addition to work, many of us also go to school part or full-time. We also have single parents in the group.

What are some examples of Connexion activities?

  • Sunday morning discussions on Biblical issues that relate to "real" life
  • Lunch after church
  • Small group Bible studies throughout the week
  • Service projects that reach out to the community and to each other
  • Social outings (concerts, sporting events, retreats, whitewater rafting, etc.)
  • Sunday night volleyball
  • Softball and other sports teams
Is daycare provided for single parents?

For Sunday morning activities, daycare is provided through the Kreation Kidz ministry at Far Hills Community Church. Other events and activities may provide childcare as well. For more information on children's activities and childcare, contact Far Hills Community Church at 434-3232 or check out the Kreation Kidz web site.

Are facilities provided for individuals who are physically disabled?

Yes. Far Hills Community Church has fully accessible doorways and restroom facilities, as well as elevators.

Do I need to be a member or attend services at Far Hills Community Church to participate in Connexion?

No. You do not need to be a member of the church to participate in Connexion or church related activities. We encourage you to check out Far Hills Community Church, as well as the Connexion LifeGroup class to see what we offer and if it is somewhere God might be leading you.

What are small groups? How can I check them out?

Small groups are sub-groups within Connexion that meet on a regular basis for fellowship, socializing, Bible study and mutual support. The goal of our small groups is to create an environment where God can impact and change your life so you can help other people change their lives. God wants to change you and then use you to help reach others with His love and life-changing power. Click here to learn more.

How can I get involved with Connexion?

The best way to get involved is to visit Connexion on Sunday mornings. Connexion continues to grow and lives are being changed by God through our group. We encourage you to join us on Sunday mornings for our teaching lessons and as you become more comfortable, there are many opportunities to get involved on a deeper level - at your own pace. You will never be pressured in our group.

You can also contact one of the Connexion leaders if you have questions.

Be sure to check out the Connexion Event Calendar for the latest information on upcoming activities.

What does it mean to be a Christ-follower? Why is it so important?

A Christ-follower is a person who has a relationship with God - a relationship that is real and personal. The relationships we have with family and friends are crucial to our happiness and well-being, but the true source of joy and satisfaction in life can only be found in a genuine relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
